June has been another busy month for us all here as usual, with London Tech Leaders #10, a team lunch to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride MonthGay Pride, a new hire, employee anniversaries and of course, our very own Chris Monticolombi’s birthday!
June 30th saw the return of London Tech Leaders-, our tenth event. These have all been successfully run by our Marketing Team Lead, Alex Melville. This time, our event was hosted at Zego’s HQ, in Exchange House in Spitalfields. We had speakers from various different companies, including Naked Wines, Cats Protection, and the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. More than seventy people joined us last week to discuss all things data privacy and science. Thank you all for coming!
June also saw a new addition to the WeShape team grew this month with, Craig Norford, who has joined as junior technical consultant via the WeShape Tech Academy. Craig has been working extremely hard and learning very quickly since he started here. He is great fun to have on the team and has been teaching us a bit about neo-soul music too! We hope to see him perform at his next gig!
Our Head of Operations, Patrick Morton (or the Operations God, as I like to call him) celebrated his two year anniversary with us at WeShape in June. Pat has been instrumental in building what WeShape is today, a company which prides itself on CSR, its employees mental and physical well-being, as well as one constantly striving for to improve. Congratulations Pat! You are indeed a huge asset to the team and a pleasure to work alongside always.
Co-founder Chris Monticolombi also celebrated his birthday in June (some might say the biggest event of the year). The WeShape team had a great time celebrating alongside Chris, who enjoyed some very well deserved celebratory drinks. Happy Birthday Chris, from all of us at We
Lastly, WeShape would like to take this opportunity to recognise June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month. WeShape are an equal opportunities employer who have zero tolerance to discrimination of any kind. We felt it important to celebrate Pride Month and did so by organising a Team Lunch. Whilst we recognise there is still so much to be done, it was a small gesture to show our support and recognition towards the LGBTQ+ community. WeShape will continue to support social minorities and those from underrepresented backgrounds at all times, and believe strongly in this, so much so that it was the primary notion behind the WeShape Tech Academy’s inception.
Thank you all for reading and we will see you in July! ☀
