June has been another busy month for us all here (as usual), LGBTQ+ Pride Month, a new hire, employee anniversaries/promotions and of course, our very own Christopher Monticolombi's birthday!
To kick off the month we hosted our first breakfast roundtable for procurement professionals at The Happenstance with Lana Williams, our Senior Client Partnership manager. This intimate setting enabled us to discuss the main pain points for procurement teams, particularly when it comes to managing internal relationships as well as those with suppliers, such as WeShape. We plan to host these every quarter with the next one being around Christmas so please do get in touch if you’d like to join our next event.
There were a lot of celebrations this month, we had both Craig Norford and Mas Ezzat celebrating their one year anniversaries with WeShape. We’re all super proud of everything they’ve both achieved since starting with us and can’t wait to see what their futures at WeShape hold for them!
We’d also like to say a big congratulations to Dan Stapely, our Operations Assistant, who passed his probation with flying colours. Over the last three months Dan has added so much value to not only the Operations team but the company as a whole. Well done Dan - we can’t wait to see what else you achieve with us.
We had a very big promotion in WeShape this month as well. Not only did she celebrate a year with us but Mas was also promoted to Head of People Operations. We are really lucky to have someone that cares so much about cultivating a healthy work culture. Everyone at WeShape is so proud and grateful for all of the progress you’ve made within the team and are yet to make!
June was once again filled with various events. WeShape again sponsored this month's London DevOps event that was held in the AWS offices in central London on the 15th June. There was a great turn out at the event, it was good to see some familiar faces as well as plenty of new ones! The Sales team were then back to Amazon’s offices on the 22nd June for an AWS Innovation Workshop that was led by our very own Eden Spelzini. This was a very insightful afternoon for the team where they worked with various organisations and companies to find ways to make their products and services more innovative and customer-centric, and using AWS’s vast resources to power up their current offerings. Many thanks to the AWS Team for hosting and providing some excellent talks!
We also held another WeShape Tech Talks event in our Aldgate offices this month. We would like to express our appreciation to Jack Leon, our experienced speaker, for sharing his insightful knowledge on everything Agile. This spanned from establishing and sustaining the Agile methodology within organisations of varying scales and growth periods to how to bridge the gap between product and engineering teams. At WeShape, we recognise and value the significance of the LGBTQ+ communities. We have chosen to highlight some members of our LGBTQ+ team. In this feature, we proudly present insightful interviews with Emily Symonds and Eden Spelzini, as they share their unique perspectives on what Pride means to them. Find out more here.
In the interest of celebrating all of the wonderful cultures we have here at WeShape, our DNI committee organised a ‘Come Dine with Me’ where everyone brought in a dish from their culture or something that was important to them. We had a wide variety of foods ranging from Mas’ Iranian Olovieh to Vic’s spicy potato salad and we can’t forget Dan’s amazing tiramisu! Thank you so much to everyone in the team that shared their dishes with us and we look forward to the next one!
We’d like to say a very big welcome to our new starter Klaudio Krasnici who has joined our Sales team as a Senior Business Development Lead! Kaludio will play a crucial role in our organisation's growth and scalability - we’re really looking forward to seeing what he achieves. To find out more about working at WeShape, click here!
Charlotte Hamilton graduated with a Masters degree in Strategic Marketing from Cranfield University this month - We’d all like to say a massive congratulations and well done for all your hard work, we’re very proud of you!
Last but certainly not least, our Co-Founder / Director Christopher Monticolombi celebrated his 30th birthday this month. We all gathered on the roof at St Dunstan’s Hill to celebrate with him and made his 30th one to remember!
See you all at the end of July after we've kicked off Q3!
