The days are starting to get brighter and the pace is starting to pick up within the WeShape team as we close off February. This month we’ve had birthdays, promotions, networking events and so much more!
To kick off the month we had our very own Ben Simpson move into the Sales team. The team has been showing him the ropes and we’re super excited to see what he achieves.
It’s been a big month for promotions here at WeShape. Firstly, we’d like to say a huge congratulations to Lana Williams for being promoted to Senior Client Partnership Manager. Lana has worked extremely hard since joining and has absolutely smashed it, we’re all very proud of you Lana! We’ve also had our first ever promotion to director level this month. Pat Morton (originally Head of Operations) has been very deservingly promoted to Director of Operations!! WeShape wouldn’t be where it is today without the help of Pat and his love for spreadsheets. Massive congratulations Pat.
Also shoutout to Will Eustace and Jamie Marney in the Sales team who celebrated their birthday this month. We hope you both had a fantastic day celebrating.
Speaking of the sales team…they have been absolutely smashing it this month so they were treated to breakfast at the Shard by our Interim CTO Nima Nikoobian. We were all very jealous back in the office!
On the 9th of February Alex Melville organised yet another successful London Tech Leaders Event (the 12th one to be exact) with the help of our lovely Social Media Assistant Charlotte Hamilton. There was a great turn out at the event which covered the topic of Product Management which was covered by our all star panel: David Crawford CTO at Naked Wines, Jon Webster MD & Partner at Boston Consulting Group, Paul Coby Experienced FTSE100 Group CIO at Persimmon, Johnson Matthey, John Lewis and British Airways, Chris Jackson CTO/CPO/CPTO and Marytna Lewinska CTO at Fiat Republic. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the panellists for taking the time to come and speak to us all.
Also a big congrats to Glen Giles on another successful Tech Talks event which was held in our central London offices on the 16th of February. We had the largest turn out we’ve ever had for this event - Well done Glen!
Our Director, Jack Moore, also organised the third OOPs event at Trainline's head offices in Holborn this month, with Lee Fredircks from PagerDuty giving a lightning speech “Don’t Panic! An Approach to Incidence Response Training'' and a discussion around what makes a good incident responder and how to build a culture focused on Uptime with our panel consisting of Mandy Tucker - Head of Service Management at PWC, Steven Ramey - Site Reliability Engineer at Citadel Securities and Luke Elliott - Director of Engineering at OakNorth Bank.
This month a small group of us have had the pleasure of attending some “Finance Basics” sessions held by our very own Pat Morton. We’ve covered some very interesting topics such as Tax, Raising Finance within a Business and Financial statements.
A big achievement for WeShape this month was being awarded our AWS Partnership! We are very excited to announce that we are an official Amazon Web Services (AWS) Consulting Partners.
We have demonstrated our ability to advise, deliver and implement AWS solutions for enterprise, mid-weight and technology led businesses. Our team has also significantly invested in training certifications to ensure we are providing optimal value to our customer base. A lot of hard work went into getting this partnership across the line so a big shoutout to Jack Moore and Matt Smith who made it all happen. On top of this, Steve Moore has also awarded his AWS Accreditation - Well done Steve!
Also a quick welcome back to a few consultants who have joined us again this month:
Dhiraj Patil - Network Engineer
Erdem Ozkol - Software Engineer
