Life at WeShape - August

Life at WeShape - August

Welcome to WeShape, August. We all hope you enjoyed the lovely weather and bank holiday weekend, August has really flown by. At WeShape, it was another busy month for us here, with our Marketing Team Lead, Alex Melville delivering another extremely successful LTL event, this time with a band providing live music, new starters joining our Sales Team, successful 5-a-side football games and lots more, we certainly made the most out of the hot weather and the last summer month…

Firstly, we’d love to welcome Pat to our Sales Team. Pat joined Jack’s team, working alongside Eden and Will. He has come with great energy and has been smashing it, making calls and securing meetings since he started. We’re very happy to have him on board, and excited for what the future will bring for him here at WeShape!

On August 10th, Alex Melville organised another excellent LTL event, with fantastic guests, a live band and an extremely good turnout of people! Hosted at our rooftop bar at our office in Monument, London Tech Leaders is a community-led events platform, where senior technology leaders can share innovative ideas, challenge conventional thinking and build strategic relationships. LTL 10’s theme was that of Disruptive Tech. Thanks to Chris Jackson from Insendi, as well as our panellists Yasmin Desai from Impala, Steve C. from Form3, Frankie Woodhead from 10x Banking and Jason McIntosh from Tracr.

Our panel discussed topics such as: what is considered true disruption, developing a business case for a disruptive idea, bringing in emerging skill sets, and the missing piece from a disruptive product preventing it from becoming successful.

August also saw the official launch of the Weshape Tech Pathway on LinkedIn. The Weshape Tech Pathway has partnered with Le Wagon to give those from non traditional backgrounds an opportunity to flourish within tech. It gives our clients a unique platform to access the future tech stars of tomorrow with a new approach to attracting, developing and retaining from a socially diverse talent pool, while protecting their long term company culture and business goals..

Some of the guys at WeShape also competed in a 5-a-side football match against Linux Recruitment earlier last month. Winning 6-5, it was chance for socialising, exercising and overall having great fun. Glen Giles won man of the match (which he was very happy about). Well done boys!

Another activity that the WeShape Team attended was Craig Norford’s neo-soul gig in Dalston. Our Tech Academy Pathway student, Craig, who is a former music teacher, invited us all along to his band’s gig. It’s safe to say that they’re all extremely talented. We had an excellent time and were happy to celebrate such great musicians.
