Conducting system improvements for an online betting platform

Introduction:

An online betting platform engaged WeShape to offer nearshore delivery solutions to conduct analysis and system improvements while also working alongside their team to deliver new functionalities for the platform.

Our client is a leading technology company revolutionising the online betting space, particularly casino games, fintech, and software solutions, with a focus on areas like Software Development, Product Management, Design, and Analytics.

The Problem:

Our client required assistance with the general upkeep and improvement of their system, they also wanted additional support with some in-development functionalities.

Solutions:

• Analysing the existing code base to identify any possible misdirected steps which prevent images to be lazy loaded
• Creating custom logic to enable images to lazy load without having to change anything on the content level
• Tweaking existing feature flags to enable iframe opening mechanics on mobile devices

• Included native attributed on the image tags through a directive usage, reducing the initial number of downloaded images by 50%+ in turn improving the loading speed for the website
• Came up with an intersection observer custom behaviours in conjunction with reactivity programming structures to trigger image loading based on previous image positioning
• Worked with internal team to finalise and launch iframe functionality, improving overall customer experience by preserving user engagement and avoiding context switching

The project was executed successfully over two months.

Conclusion:

By collaborating with the client's internal tech team, WeShape’s nearshore consultant analysed and implemented improvements to the client's website while also assisting with the rollout of the iframe functionality to help improve overall customer experience for mobile users.
